Aquaponics Is Chemical Free

Aquaponics gardens are chemical-free fresh food

I was searching through the grocery store, picking up processed food item after processed item. I’d turn the package around and look at all of theaquaponics ingredients inside, and find myself disgusted at how little real food was contained. From chemicals to additives and preservatives, the food that I was eating was filled with things that I would dream feeding myself or my kids. I decided that it was time for a change.

Aquaponics- a new way of thinking

I needed a new outlet for my food, a new way to get natural items without the chemicals, and I needed to conserve my money. I couldn’t see myself taking the time and the dollars to purchase expensive fresh food every day, and I didn’t have the time or the space to care for an entire dirt garden. I was running out of practical solutions, until I heard of aquaponics. aquaponics kits and aquaponics projects were the new craze in fresh food, and they were self-sustaining. I had to know more about them, and when I heard their capabilities, I knew that they were the only choice that I could’ve made.

Aquaponics  saves money and health

Aquaponics are a new way in cultivating your own home gardens, and they can be used throughout the year. Aquaponics plans produce larger crops than most methods of regular dirt farming, and it the systems allow you to save money on fertilizer and growing tools. The vegetables and plants come out of aquaponics are all natural, and I was eating healthier, feeling more vibrant and saving more money on food than I ever had before. Aquaponics projects allow you to place your plants into water gardens. These gardens are filled with both water and fish, and the plants feed off of the fish as the fish feed off of the plants. You will be able to enjoy fresh fish all year from aquaponics, as well as clean vegetables that are grown with only natural ingredients and nutrients.

Aquaponics and ecology

When you plant your vegetables, fruits or plants in the  aquaponics system, they will feed off of the natural nutrients produced as waste by the fish. In turn, the fish will feed off of the soil of the plants. As the plants thrive, the fish will produce offspring, and your plants will continue growing and blooming faster and more often withaquaponics than they ever have. The fish will replenish themselves, and so will the plants and vegetables. I was amazed at the results of this system the first time that I used it, and it took my a while to fully understand the nature of the system. These aquaponics water beds occur naturally in rivers, swamps and marsh areas, and they have produced some of the best crops of food around the world.

Aquaponics combines hydroponics and aquaculture

Aquaponics mixes the careful gardening practices of hydroponics, with the natural tenets of aquaculture, to create a system that is revolutionary, self-sustaining and symbiotic. Whereas hydroponics relies on concocting chemicals for water-released growing, and aquaculture relies on the maximized growing of fish in a pond or tank culture, aquaponics systems combine the best of both worlds. With aquaponics, you will be able to enjoy the best parts of both, and will have the benefit of being rid of the worst parts of both. You will not be missing the chemicals used for hydroponics, and you will be rid of the high stocking rates of aquaculture.

The efficiency of Aquaponics

Aquaponics tanks, depending on their size, can produce as many as 100 fish per year, and can leave you enough crops of vegetables to last the summer, spring, winter and fall. With all these benefits, and a cost of only a few hundred dollars to get started, you will be reaping the benefits of your aquaponics system after just a few months, and it will be paying for itself. I knew it wouldn’t be a very difficult, but when I first started, I though that there would be a little more work involved. After the system was set up, I only had to make sure the aquaponics project was maintained, and all I had to do was feed the fish and farm the plants as normal.

Year Round Food With Aquaponics

Now, it wasn’t all simple. When I decided to farm the vegetables with aquaponics  year-round, I had to purchase heaters for the water or keep the system indoors. And this wasn’t entirely practical as the aquaponics system was rather large, and could get messy. But, if you have the space like I had, you’ll find yourself treating you and your family to more fish and vegetables – and more fresh products than you’ve ever had in your life. With thousands of aquaponics appearing throughout the country – and in classrooms around the world – I knew it was about time that I jumped on the bandwagon, and I am happy to say that I have not been off since.

Natural Products From Aquaponics

The fish taste more natural and healthy than any other fish I have had, and because they feed on only the natural products of the water and the plants in the aquaponics system, I never had to worry about harmful substances and chemicals. And because the plants were only feeding on the natural products from the fish, I only had to insert myself as the third leg in the process, and I was enjoying all of the fresh fish and delicious vegetables that I had ever wanted – all thanks to the aquaponics system.

Natural plants and vegetables  with an aquaponics bed

I couldn’t stand the things I was eating every day. I felt unhealthy after wolfing down a fast food meal during lunch at work, or popping in a aquaponicsprocessed meal in the microwave at home. And I sure as heck didn’t want to spend a fortune every week to buy all of the healthy, natural and organic foods from the supermarket. It simply wasn’t an option for me with my current situation. I didn’t know about aquaponics then.

Aquaponics and healthier kids

Even worse, I didn’t want my kids eating the kinds of things that would turn them into lifelong junk food addicts. No, I wanted something cheaper, something better and something healthier. I wanted something new, and I wanted something done right. And then I heard about aquaponics. It seemed a little confusing at first. I wasn’t really sure how it worked, or sure that the price of the aquaponics system would be worth it. I couldn’t understand how much food was being grown, or why it was so healthy, but all of the facts about aquaponics came together rather simply once I did – and it all made as much sense as everyone was trying to tell me it did. I couldn’t believe I hadn’t stumbled upon aquaponics earlier, and once I did, I knew I was never going back to the old way I was eating.

Aquaponics is easy

Aquaponics is a system that can be added to any home garden, anywhere in the world. It can supplement a dirt garden, and can be used in arid climates to grow the kind of foods that just will not thrive otherwise. With aquaponics, you can grow crops of the size and amount that you have never dreamed of, and be supplied with your favorite vegetables and dishes throughout the entire year. Aquaponics uses a symbiotic to supply your vegetables with the nutrients necessary to outgrow their outdoor counterparts.

Aquaponics is simple

All I had to do was add the right fish and the water to my aquaponic system, and then plant the vegetables. The fish would then feed off of the waste of the plants, and the waste from the fish was used to fertilize the nutrients that would be growing the vegetables. It was not a cheap investment at first, but the aquaponic system has more than paid for itself in the amount of vegetables I have enjoyed every season. I’ve been eating tomatoes in the winter like it was the middle summer, and have been enjoying my favorites – cucumbers – in numbers that I’ve never known a garden system can produce. Whether you want to call it hydroponics, aquaculture or anything else, aquaponics is a system that is not only natural and chemical-free, but one that will have you eating the kinds of garden treats that make your mouth water.

Aquaponics provides natural seafood

How can aquaponics make you healthier and save you money? Do you want organic food without the extra cost?  If this is what you’re looking foraquaponics then you’ve come to the right place.

Some people are simply disgusted by the way that most foods are made and processed. These foods are piled with salts, preservatives, sugars, additives and unnatural ingredients – and these are enough to make you cringe. Whether it is fast food or many of the snacks and foods you buy at your grocery store, you are imbibing more unnatural products than any generation of people since the beginning of civilization. We’ve paid for it with sicknesses, obesity and a number of heart and organ problems – and sought natural foods as a way out of this slippery slope. Now we’re finding out that the best natural food comes from aquaponics.

Aquaponics and seafood

One of the toughest natural foods to find, though, is usually seafood. Because it is not sold everywhere anyway – and because it can be so expensive – seafood is among one of the most processed and unnatural foods you can buy. Especially if you live inland, buying seafood can be a lesson in the unpronounceable names of chemicals, additives and unhealthy alternatives. But, lovers of natural food and of the fish and plants from the sea need not fret, as there answers to your prayers – and they are found in the form of aquaponics.

Aquaponics allows you to enjoy a supply of seafood, and all with the natural ingredients that the world intended for the fish and the plants. With aquaponics, you can enjoy an eco-friendly process of farming your own natural foods without chemical fertilizers. You will be enjoying vegetables that can be grown as a part of your aquaculture experience, and enjoy the protein and nutrients from any fish in your system. These are especially useful in arid or dry climates, and aquaponiic systems will allow you to bring the freshness of the sea home with you – anywhere in the world.

Fresh vegetables and fish from aquaponics

With an aquaponic vegetable bed, small fishes found in nature will be used to promote the growing of your plants outside of the water, and you will always be able to enjoy fresh food, irrigated through the simplicities of natural fertilizers and common nutrients. Though an aquaponic system might set you back when you purchase it, it will more than pay for itself in your ability to produce your own organic and inexpensive food. When you are using aquaponic methods, you will not have to pay for expensive fresh vegetables every day or every week, and the aquaculture will provide you with a fresh, crunchy and natural taste.

Aquaponics for the world

If you’re like millionss around the world who find themselves absolutely turned off by the things that are being used to make their food – by the things that they are eating every day – you can be like many others and make the change to aquaponics. You owe it to yourself to enjoy the freshest food possible, to save on fertilizer, and to eat the kind of foods that were grown the aquaponics way – with all the glory of nature.
